Does anyone would hv any sugestion to where can get a good price for editing softwere in s'pore?

What kind of workflow you looking at? From card transfer to print? Just pure editing? Any particular software you thinking of? I'm personally using the Adobe Lightroom (STE) bought from challenger @ $148. They will require some form of identification, of course. IMHO, lightroom does everything I need (and them some). PLUS, you can download user presets free from some websites.

Challanger has Elements 5.0 OEM bundle version for $69 ($59 for members).

care to share on the user presets which are free ? :)

Sorry for OT.

When buying software, you might want to try out the trial version (if available) first if this is the first time you are using it. Don't really trust the review, experience it yourself before spending your money to get it.

Adobe Lightroom is great if u handles lots of RAW files, pretty redundant if JPEG files, u probably use it as a photo file manager. the workflow is very good and looks great too, though u need a good PC to ensure a smooth experience. It can get pretty laggy when the PC is sluggish.... can easily adjust the settings but minimal photo editing capabilities

Adobe Photoshop elements is a few notch below lightroom but really works as file manager cum basic photo editor. much cheaper than lightroom (assuming u are not a student) and value if u get the combo wif the premiere elements.

AcDsee Pro 8 is clean simple file manager, not much photo editing capabilities. only adjust a few settings only. not sure about the features of the latest version. very fast due to its simple design.

The Photoshop Elements 6 is out, though not in S'pore yet. http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/
Read the press release here http://www.dpreview.com/news/0709/07092401pse6.asp

Element 6 is out, got it from Funan...

Retail edition is $150....
Student edition is $99...

New to this, so learning.... Did not get lightroom as my impression is there are limited editing tools......

I mainly going to use the softwere for color correction, enlarging, sharpening and printing fotograph only. I heard there is a softwere called DXO. anyone use it before?
From what I heard it very simple and effecient to use.

photoshop element would be one of the best bet at that low price especially the student ed.

If this is all that u wanna do, Photoshop Element 6 would be a good choice.
Take a look at the right hand side of the PS Element 6 screenshot to see what you could do in the editing department:

Don't know how much it costs over here tho.

DxO Optics can do equipment specific (eg. EOS5D+EF50/1.4 combo) correction. v powerful and easy to use too. Dunno who sells it here. those old-timer pro who don't want to learn PS CS3 but want their pix swee swee would love this baby :)
