Nite photography techniques

Just gotten a olympus e510. How and what are the lens, techniques for betta nite photography?
REad alot that there are nite lens?
Pls advise me on this...

There are million of different scene, so you expect 1 technique fit all? :dunno:

Most impt thing,Tripod.
Depends on what kind of night scenes you wan to shoot,you can use different lens
Most ppl like night scenery so they use wide lens

Night lenses as in??

f1.0? Those can help in low light photography but the DOF is very shallow, do you want that kind of effects? Shooting with flash is one night option, else, tripods and long shutter speeds is another.
