I went to the Chinese Gaeden with a few friends last night and was disapointed with the way the Lantern Festival was organised.

1st thing.. I was asked to pay S$3 for a motocycle parking
2nd thing.. The place was run by some punk who dont have the slightest knowledge about Moon Cake festival.. playing loud modern/rock music in the background.

The lanterns are beautiful but the heck with the way they display them.. more like just throw them around.

The worst part was the control. some kids are seen going beyond the boundary and they could be electrocuted but nobody cares.

$12 is way too much for this craps.

should be called Mid-Autumn Festival, try not to use the term ''Moon Cake Festival''

$3 motorcycle parking?... bro, you been carrot chopped lah... :bsmilie:

just park at lakeside and walk in lah.

me, i also don't like the lanterns
other than the lotus ones which they have been using last year
and i also don't like the entrance fee that they charge even when people go before the lanterns are up

"gardens closed, but if you pay tortoise museum ticket we let you in"
sure, there's no free lunch
but either you go all the way and do a proper job with regards to the tortoise museum, i've been there many many times, believe me it isn't worth the fee
or you just don't let anyone in and make sure that proper announcement is made

Thats what I did. Its not really the cost but the worth. Whole day parking islandwide is only $0.65. If they charge $1 den maybe its reasonable but as the entrance fee is already so high, why is there a need to hire some parking attendents to charge and recover cost?

Actually my sister and friends intend to go there this sunday, I advise them to go elsewhere... thats a group of 30+ ($360).

i remember visiting many years back, during the mid autumn festivities, very crowded, and the only food stall inside was selling each plate of plain fried bee hoon for $8  crazy sia

 $3 for parking ur bike !??

car park got lucky draw is it

That bad huh? I was thinking of making a trip there to do some photo shooting since I always miss it every time it came around. heheh Look like I will be missing it again this year.

This yr, for adults is $12... I find there wasn't much to see...

It's impossible to crowd control mah... then how? It's solely your own responsibilities i guess... if the kid ga na electrocuted, then too bad... you not suppose to go pass the bamboo barriers in the first place, there is also warning signage already... just like above ground mrt stations.

It strated with a group of teens who are friends of one of the partimer there (wearing the orange tee shirt). They are allowed beyond the barriers and then the kids followed them. Some adults also went in.

Blk 354 MSCP?

how long the walk over?

someone gave me tickets lah, so thought i go see the fireworks.

dun waste money.. went in there.. nothing fantastic..

i was given free tickets mah, so thought of going to look see look see.

Saw a Chinese Garden road show at Tampines Mall yesterday offering a $2 discount off all tickets. Hence, an adult ticket will cost $10 instead of the published $12.
