Hi all,

I have sent 2 rolls of 35mm film to a shop for processing and also to burn the images into CD ROMs on 2 separate occasions. Each roll was shot using a different film camera with date imprint function (which I am sure was switched on).

The funny thing is that when I viewed the pics on my computer, the date imprints do not appear! When it happened the 1st time, I thought there was something wrong with the 1st camera so I tried again with a different 2nd camera. Same outcome!!!

Can any brothers out there help?

(I tried looking hard at the negatives... I don't think I see the date imprints on the negatives too)

I dont believe I have 2 spoilt cameras with date imprint functions that don't work.

hmmm....

you should able to find it from the negative (assume you have it turn on), you need to use a loupe, if you don't have, just order one print to see whether the date stamp exist or not.

Thanks for the tip... I checked the negatives ... there are no date imprints at all.

I find it hard to believe both my cameras are spoilt in this sense... can the shop actually mask off the date imprints when processing the negatives?

very weird..

check you camera first, if you can see the date shown on the camera back, it does not mean the imprint function has been turn on.

it is not possible to mask out the date imprints during processing, scanning or print making.

a few years back, I accidentally turn on the date imprint and shoot a roll of negative, I have to get it scanned and use photoshop to remove all of them from each frame before I make prints from this roll of negative.

Thanks bro ...

hmmm .. I always assumed that when I can see the date, the imprint function is turned on.

This is because I can set the display to show "------" (which I assume is the state of imprint being turned off).

Not correct meh?
