Anyone into metal or Megadeth? Tickets avaliable at sistic! Like so unreal huh!

rock on bro!

Finally, they're coming to S'pore .... after Metallica and Slayer.
I wish they had come years ago when the band were at their best with Mustaine, Ellefson, Menza and Friedman.
The current lineup ain't bad but they don't rock my world, especially Glen Drover.

megadeth still around huh? hahah i tot they dieded already.. so old school

Still, better late than never! :bsmilie: I find Shawn's drumming to be as good if not better than Menza's.

Still around la. Where got old school when ah gong rockers like Aerosmith, Rolling Stones etc still around. :bsmilie:

Their peers from the 80s like Metallica and Iron Maiden still active, in fact, Maiden is still very active but still, have not make it to SG yet. Even Madonna, Kylie Minogue still around....auntie liao lor.

Megadeth's concert is in support of their lastest album, United Abominations, which I find is quite good. Their website is very nice:

I have to give it a miss! Damn it! :(

I was considering to go to their concert, but I didn't know the band lineup has changed quite a bit (I haven't listened to albums released after Cryptic Writings and Risk). Now I'm not sure whether I still want to go. Hmmm but I might still go anyway because there are so few good rock bands coming to perform in Singapore.

By the way I was fortunate enough to see the band with Mustaine, Friedman, Ellefson, and Menza lineup live in concert about 10-12 years ago. That concert kicked ass. They aren't like those bands that only sound great on their albums, but suck when performing on stage.

Haiz... I was hoping Metallica would come back to Singapore for a show then.
Missed the last show they had in Singapore then.

Anyway... seems like we will be getting Linkin Park in Singapore soon... ;p
Not forgetting the everlasting "David Copperfield" !!! ;)

"David... can u use ur magic & make me become thinner? If not, can U make others become fatter??"

Heehee...

Risk is a failure! Try their latest album; United Abominations. Return to their trash metal roots. I think its their best since Rust In Peace.

U really lucky, got to see the classic line-up live. Iron Maiden is THE band to see live. I just hope they come 1 day.

Anyway, its not often a metal band perform live in SG and Megadeth is 1 of the biggest names in Metal, so its worth going.

The Metallica of today is more hard rock than their classic masterpiece 80s trash metal. Disappointing! Their Load and Re-load albums are really a load of crap! So i think their concerts are no longer worth going for metal fans/80s Metallica fans.

Alamak Linkin Park.... Another class liao.

Rust in peace is my all time fav album frm megadeth.

quite heng i saw metallica at indoor stadium when they came here :D
metallica is still ok watching them perform their old songs (caught them last year at summersonic)...the new songs...dont need to say lah..all a load of crap. hahahaa. :bsmilie:

if iron maiden comes, i will ditch all the money i have been saving for a camera and buy the best tickets available! they are DA BOMB

but megadeth is great as well, especially liked she-wolf and hanger 18, anyone here going for the concert?
i hope i can scrap enough cash:cry:

Very, very agree on Metallica. Bob Rock destroyed their formula from the Black album onwards. A whole lotsa crap. Dunno why James and Co become so bodoh, but Hammett is still my idol

For Megadeth, Mustaine = Megadeth, no doubt about it. Will be going.............

If you watch the Metallica 'Some Kind Of Monster' videocumentary (whatever), you see how voiceless Hammett is in the band. Hetfield and Ulrich are the main voices. I think it's no fair to say Bob Rock destroyed them. I think it's more of those two, James and Lars, who wanted the change (maybe to sound more like Bon Jovi??).

Megadeth tried to mellow down too starting from the Countdown album. So did Testament for their The Ritual album. Maybe it's a phase bands go through.
Even Slayer let their hair down with the punk cover album that they did. Maiden did experiment couple of albums back. Honestly, I stopped listening after I bought the No Prayer album. Somehow they sound less 'evil' without Adrian Smith then.

If Cliff is still alive, their path might be somewhat different, I think? I'd actually stop buying their videocumentaries up to "Live, binge and purge". Reload was their last album I bought. Still continue to play their songs up to Reload on my MP3 though. But in a very big way they somewhat shaped my character during those teenage angst years, the way I see things as they did back then. Anyway Cliff 'em All !

Megadeth lineup of Mustaine, Friedman, Ellefson, and Menza was their best technically and artistically.

Its not Bob Rock but Ulrich and Hetfield got too encouraged by the success of the Black album and the changing sound of the 90s. From metal to grunge rock to alternative rock. They figuered that hard rock will sell more. But they dare to change and stick with it.

Megadeth, as long as Dave Mustaine is angry, their albums will be good! :bsmilie:

For Maiden, I think Fear of the Dark is very good! Yeah they are the band to see live. They made it to India back in March, maybe they will come to SG soon.

For me, I've mellowed a lot thru the years. But give me songs like Angry Again and I'll get angry again heh.....heh......heh...

Actually I gave Metallica another chance after Load and Reload (which were not bad albums per se...but coming from Metallica disappointed many trash metal fans of their early days), by buying St.Anger. Heard the hype of it capturing the spirit and tenacity of pre Black Metallica.
Alas! Tin can drumming and sololess songs are worse than loads of rock metal!!!

Must give Megadeth another try after stopping at Cryptic.

For Megadeth, u got to try their latest album, United Abominations. Its really good and its trash metal.

After Cryptic, its Risk, which is a failed experiment. Switched back to trash metal in The World Needs a Hero and The System Has Failed, which I think that its not their best. Then United Abominations upped the ante and I think its their best since Rust In Peace.

But they changed their guitars and drums. U might not get used to the newer sound if u are used to the sound of their old guitars.
