RAM Upgrade

Hi,

I need advise with RAM upgrade.

My PC currently has 1GB RAM and I wanted to add another 1GB.

I checked my PC spec and it states,

Maximum allowed = 4 GB* (4 x 1 GB)
Speed supported = PC2-5300 MB/sec
Type = 240 pin, DDR2 SDRAM

So does that mean I can just look for another 1GB RAM of same speed and type, and I should able to install without compatibility problem?

Any other information I need?

Hi,

I had upgraded my ram which was similar to your situation.

I just went to Sim Lim Sq and buy the 1GB Ram which was the same spec as the current one and install into my motherboard.

Nope u dont have to buy a 5300 speed Ram. U can get faster ones and run without a hitch.

Look herefor pricelists. I suggest you refer to Fuwell/Bell list, as they are quite reflective of market rate
