Tips on maintaining a healthy Nikon D200

As I like to keep my D200 clean n healthy, are there any tips to doing this in general?
And how about the lenses?

Make sure your hands are free from grease, dirt before you touch it. After the outing, use 1 2 different optical clothes - 1 for exterior of the lens, body & mounts, 1 for the lens elements. If the element is not dusty and without fingerprints/grease marks, then just a blower will do.

Lens should have a UV filter for added protection.

If your kit was wet in any way, let it air first before placing it back in the drybox.

Vacuum your camera bag periodically.

As mentioned by the others, there are many ways to prevent it from deteriorating, but if you're afraid of marks and injuries to the body, there is also the option of gaffering the body or using camera armour.

And dun worry too much, this camera can last even in drizzles... (do check the lenses though, I've read of some threads that the lens went kaput first)

dont ever compare your d200 with the new d300. hahaha
the d200 is still a great camera nevertheless.

benji more or less covered the more impt areas, but you may wanna consider using gaffer tape to tape up the more.. exposed areas of your camera/lenses.

Dun think so much. Just shoot. A camera is meant for shooting and not for pampering

i think it is best not to drop it and be careful when changing lenses as dust particles may get in and therefore so called dirty ur sensor... and try to keep equipments in dry cabi when not in use to prevent moulds!

its depend on your luck...not the cleaniness of your camera...electronics have a lifespan that no one can predict...so just enjoy your camera and use it to take nice photo rather then bothering about this kind of things...

my d70 is kept on the table for so long till the rubber rotted away and super dusty...but still able to take photo...

But by keeping it at home and not using it what do you gain? It will alway be on the shelf, basically useless.
Imagine buying an expensive watch but dare not wear because afraid of scratching it..

the 2 pin connectors, you understand? the covers will drop after a while by itself. who say not using the camera?

when you want to sell the camera, then put back the pin connector covers.

DSLR's have heavy price tags and I love my D200. I guess owning a "clean n healthy" camera gives me a great personal value and plus, it will certainly help me if I want to sell it later in the future *which is not anytime soon* I mean I wouldn't want to shoot away using a dirty/mouldy camera despite the fact that it still works fine and produces good results.

Anyways thanks a bunch for those who have contributed.
