I am planning to get a new camera real soon and I koe nuts abt it. I just need a normal camera for normal use, not for hobby. I am seeking advices from this forum and hope you guys can help me out.

I have actually set eyes on Sony Cybershot DSC-T100, its actually the slick interface design I am attracted to. But heard Olympus is not bad, so I am contemplating between this 2.

Can anyone advise me?

Where can I buy a best deal? Sim Lim?

What should I look for in the functions for a Digital Cam?

I would suggest Fuji cameras for their good ability to shoot indoor (low light) pictures.

If you are looking for slim and stylish cam like the Sony, you can consider Z5 (currently $399 with many free items). If you can wait a few more weeks, then the newly launched Z100 with built in anti-shake function will be even more versatile.

If you don't mind a slightly bulkier cam, then can also consider F31fd (currently $499 with free memory, etc). Even better image quality at high iso.

You can find out more about the models from Fuji website ( http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/index.html ). Prices offered at MS color (http://www.mscolor.com.sg/) is the best so far. Avoid Sim Lim if you don't know much about what you want.

Thanks for the reply!

I guess the camera will be mostly used outdoors. Nvr tot of Fuji cameras, tot it isnt very popular...at least to me. hee.

Will seriously consider Fuji now. How abt this F50? Tot its very stylish and 12 megapixels!!

If you drop by other threads discussing on compact cameras, Fuji's name will often be mentioned.

F50 is highly anticipated. Not sure if it has arrived. Call up MS or other shops to check before heading down.

By the way, welcome to CS;)

Thanks. How abt this F40? Was introduced this product. But Fuji is made in China. One shop introduce me a Panasonic FX30, with wide LEICA lens, made in Japan, Mega Optical Image Stabilizer. Hows this compared to the Fuji F40?

Fuji's low light capabilities are so much better than Pana or other cams.

The F31fd, F40fd and the upcoming F50fd.

But why not go to:

www.dpreview.com
www.scresource.com

to do a search on the cam you are interested in and read the reviews, then go to the shops like M S Color, Cathay Photo, Alan Photo and T K Foto to try ti out.

Never never go to the other SLS shops, except for Alan Photo.

Go to a shop and try out the cameras you like & see which camera you like more. Then get from the usual shops recommended by bros here. Remember not to listen too much to the sales person & go with your heart.

Hi bro, i think you mean dcresource: http://www.dcresource.com/ ;)

Even for Alan Photo, make sure u know the usual price first before stepping in...

Fuji is better than Panasonic in terms of performance. F31D has won several awards as well. =)

Sorry to dig out this old thread.

Saw this new Fujifilm F100fd, any comments on these?

Was deciding btw F40, F50 and F100. Which one better huh?

Do a comparison between teh models and see which fits your need better. What I need you may not need, so difficult to tell you which is better.
