I like this alot! but would prefer it to be a bit colder... too yellowish for my liking... esp when i know it's supposed to be white.

Is this restaurant in Singapore or Japan?

i think if you adjusted the white balance the shots would look even better.

Have always enjoyed eating at Waraku.

Now for the photos, white balance is off. Some of the shots can do with a little more DOF.

As what other have mentioned. WB is off. You are shooting too close on some food shots. It does not look appetizing at all. Angle of the food can be improve. Composition is out as well. Too many stray lights which make too many reflections.

Should try to avoid direct flash. Most shots are underexposed.

Try again.

i dont think he used flash otherwise the wb wouldnt have been off that much.

Flash not fired. If flash was fired, at such a close range, the subject would be totally washed out.

He can't just use flash as it will be a direct flash. Even if he had a swivel flash head, it would not wise to shoot in the restaurant during service as it may annoy other patrons.

You can use flash even at close range (provided your flash head can swivel at an angle).

If you are allow to use flash in the restaurant, by all means use it but aim at a different angle. If you are able to find a white wall will be better still so it can reflect to the food. When light is reflected off the wall and reflected towards your subject, it will be much softer lighting.
