Hello hello, i am new in photography and need some help!
1) How do i improve my skills of photography?
2) what camera should i buy? ( budget of $700-800)
* NO DSLRs please

1. Read aritcles/books, understand the conecepts, shoot/practise, self critique , repeat

2. What do you like to shoot and how often do you intend to shoot? If you spend $700+ on a bridge/prosumer now and decide to upgrade to DLSR later you will lose more than if you just buy a second hand DLSR now :)

I'd wait for fuji to release tier new f and s series cause those look promising.. currenlty the fuji f31d comes highly reccomened for a compact and for prosumers you have the choice of canon S3IS , panasonic fz-50 or maybe a fuji s9000..

I agree with raptor84,but seriously i think the panasonic fz-50 is a great camera,used it before,it has a little box in the LCD screen during manual focusing,and it gives really great sharp pictures.:D

Welcome to photography and to CS

check canon/nikon. if ur goin for film slr/ digital slr, they are good. good range of lenses.
i personally use canon.

canon eos 30 is pretty decent to start with . u cud also look at eos 1v, eos 3. u cud read user reviews on photo.net and look up features on adorama.com or any of other online purchase sites. also note that manuals are available online. u can read and decide.
