A better bounce card

just want to ask something.

I went to this website. and the guy suggested this foamy sheet to use as a bounce card.

I have been looking all over to find this in bookstores/office supplies store. i went to Popular, but cant find any.

Do you know any specific store that sells this.

dun think popular will have..a good source for art materials will be art friend and spotlight..i got mine at spotlight plazasing..the big rubber band is from CK dept store..

I just bought a white colour plastic file and cut out the backing to make into a bounce card....but haven't got time to test.....do you think its ok? Why foam paper har? Less reflective (more diffused?) than plastic card?

I think you got the purpose wrongly. You have to use a non reflective material. less reflective results to more diffused.

reflective material is like using the flash directly to your subject. imagine using mirror (the most reflective material) as a bounce card...

O, I think I did not explain myself clearly...I was using a very rough/opaque white plastic piece....its not those with glossy and smooth surface. Paid $2 for the file

This foam material is called "Foamtastic" at Art Friend if I remember correctly.

I have used it and it works great cos it lets you adjust the amount of light u wish to throw forward to light up your subject.
Too much light and u see harsh shadows, too little and u get shadows in areas under the chin.
It also works in portrait mode, an added advantage over normal flat bounce cards.

I think I can answer that one... when you attach your foamtastic to your flash. just lift the foam backwards and down. push and pull to adjust.

it the video from the a better bounce card site?? Argggg....my comp just won't load that video and my company has blocked all video streaming.....can watch it since a few months back....

Can I just ask, that means the foam is ready to be fitted onto the flash?? Just attach by rubber band?

a tip from the cheapo (me) :devil: ...hehe

u can get the black band free. just go to the bicycle shop and ask for the discarded bicycle tyre tube (they will give it to u free). slice the tube to a piece abt 1" to 2" and stretch it around your flash. I just got the tube and the band that i cut fit snugly ard the flash...

now it's just the foam paper to complete it...meanwhile using a folded a4 paper.....:embrass:

haha, right now im using the same, just a normal a4 paper, but i will try to find tonight, anyone know what other place we can buy this foamtastic or any same material...
