Hi guys,

As promised here's a new thread about it. I decided to create a web site about Pentax, here are information about it :

URL : http://www.club-pentax.org http://www.clubpentax.org
Software used to maintain the web site : SPIP (see http://www.spip.net).

I created 5 sections on the web site :

- Links about Pentax
- Pentax history
- Pentax products
- Review
- Third part lenses and acc.
- Where to buy

To make it work, I can not do it alone (I miss time and I don't want to spend my week end on computer), so I need your help.

Each section needs one personne as a main writer, this one will have an access on the publisher admin page and write and edit freely article in his section. Other people will have to submit their article to the main writer of the section.

Each one of you who become a main writer will have an email address on your-name@club-pentax.org (can be a pop3 address or redirected to your own email address).

We need as well a HTML designer able to understand SPIP language (not really complicated and good experience for your job, SPIP is very powerfull framework) and to make a nice web site.

Please, don't pm me directly, that's not my web site, it's OUR web site, I just offer the hosting but we have all to work on it and we have to do it here on the forum.

Well, I'm not good at web design but I proposed to stougard that we use mollio css/html templates (http://www.mollio.org/) for the site layout and design. It is free to use (under open source licensing), and most importantly, it has the right color scheme: red, black & white. :)

I have downloaded the SPIP software and been playing with it. I think I can incorporate the mollio design into the website.

If you have any other ideas or designs, please suggest.

I think this already great idea, if you can do that, let me know, I can open sftp access to the server that you can upload directly your files.

GUYS,

Anybody wants to write an article, just write it using notepad. You can use HTML flags inside to call pictures or change style. Anybody who sends an article who is pushed on line will get an email address your_name@club-pentax.org and an account to the web interface to edit directly your articles.

Too bad my ang mo cannot make it, else I'll help contribute a little:bsmilie: I believe you guys (and gals) will do a great job:thumbsup:

Quite a number of articles and reviews of the small range of Pentax stuff has alrdy been on the web.
So I suggest that the articles we contribute would be from PERSONAL experience, with photos for support of course. It could be any thing Pentax, from 195x (if you are a collector) to present day stuff.
Write about your experience with that piece of equipment, during travel, assignment or outing; or just plain personal review.
How about it?;)

Let's do it, I'll push online as soon as I have enough content to do so.

A suggestion.
Each month feature an article in the front page. Weekly is too taxing since it is a volunteer/out-of-own-will effort. The article feature a fellow Pentax user doing just what he/she love to do - shoot with Pentax.

Interview-style with words/tips from the user. The interview can be done in email form so minimize the time needed. Photos of the user and how he/she's at work best included. Since all of us have a Pentax in hand, i guess taking such "interview shoot" shouldn't be a problem. We can actually have "assigned photographers" for the site if anyone is keen on helping to take a step into "photojournalist" in a casual way.

Imagine each month, new faces of fellow Pentax user from various grounds to be featured.
A wedding photographer, a landscape shooter, a macro specialist, a HDR artist etc etc.
A draw for new visitors while keeping the content up and fresh while showing others, Pentax cameras are everywhere...

Sorry if it's sound too "huge" a plan. Just a suggestion from my visualization...

Hey stougard, I know I promised to do a writeup on PS with regards to landscape, and IR/HDR techniques with Pentax cams, but a little busy lately due to various commitments, just to let ya know, should be only able to churn out something by Sep.

Thanks. Glad you like it. Just sent an email to you.

Hi

Yep, I received and I'll answer to you very soon.

To all of you guys who wants to write something for this web site, please contact me directly on my email stephane@unices.org, don't use Clubsnap PM as it has too much limitation (I erased one article I received by accident).

Please, to all of you who already sent me an article using Clubsnap PM, resend to my email, I'll answer to each one of you. Anybody who write a good article will have a author account on the web site where you can directly insert it and an email address at your_name@club-pentax.org.

Thanks to everybody for your help on this project.

Best regards

Stephane
