Hi.... I'm planning to get a Super Wide Angle Lense for my 400D. Either a Sigma 10-22mm or a Canon 10-20mm. Of course try to get 2nd hand set lah. I know for a brand new set, Canon will cost more than the Sigma......

So how ?? Which one would be the better buy ?? And do anyone know the Est street price of the lense..... for Sigma 10-22mm or the Canon 10-20mm. Thxs:D

Try out both. I don't own either yet... I'm leaning towards the Wigma 10-20 for the better pricing over the Canon. Its about $850 vs $1050 new. Grey Wigma will be a bit cheaper.

Just bot Sigma 10-20mm from OP at $735. This price is cheap; Amazon.com selling at same price. Actually, both Canon & Sigma are both high quality; not much difference except the price.

Thxs all for the info..... at $735...... me would rather get a brand new one than the $650++ ones selling at the market place here. Thxs again.:D

Another good choice would be the tokina 12-24 as well.

Do take note of not getting a bad copy for the sigma..

Err.... what do u mean 'Bad Copy'...... like in 'grey set' or problem unit ??

I THINK HE IS REFERING TO A GREY SET CAUSE THATS WAT ORIENT NORMALLY SELLS GREY SETS!

Er,

I think when a set is bad copy it means that it is not sharp. Sigma QC is problematic at times, from what I've read.

Just test it from wide open to about f/11, if the details are fine when you zoom in, assuming there was no handshake, it should be a sharp copy, blah.

Do you have to use caps? =(

Thxs.... spazzer & night86mare. :D

Sadly my choice now is between getting the Sigma 10-22mm or a underwater strobe for my Canon A610 camera, both for a trip to Bali this Sept.......

Too many things I want..... too litte $$$$ :D

you can try renting the lenses and trying them out for a day or two. or even rent them for the trip to bali.

i rented the canon 10-22 when i went to bali last year. great stuff! totally blown away by the sharpness wide open and good colour reproduction.

alternatively...you could rent the strobes too. about $25 a day with arms and tray. PM me if you want to find out more about that?
