how about asking your friendly firemen? =)

chey...i thought there might have been another use apart from getting a higher vantage point and such...paiseh

Ladders don't offer much advantage now. You need to get a cherry-picker to get ahead of the competition.

u sure u want to buy?
dun say never warn u...there are anti-ladder crusaders around.....ladder is bad...very bad:thumbsd: ...block audience, children and public and the elderly:o ..do u still want to buy?:embrass:

true what....you see the way the ladder gang behave....you will be disgusted......esp in fashion shoots.....front row....still use freaking ladder...might as well go strap yourself to a rope by the ceiling and do mid air shoot....

Aiyah, easy lah.

Ladder there right? Get the crowd to surge forward, knock the ladder abit, let it S.W.A.Y a little....

IMO, it would be better if the entire ladder comes crashing down, photographer, lens, flash galore. Goodness me, that would be a scene of chaos! Ppl start screaming, stomping on each other to get out, everything that doesn't have a firm centre of gravity simply comes crashing down..... ;p

Actually its not easy to fall off a ladder, unless someone intentionally tries to do it. In which case, it is a simple open and shut case of assault.

Centre of gravity. Top heavy, bottom light, a crowd of 50 ppl or more surge forward u see if the Law of Newton applies or not. ;p

To make thing worse. Some front row guys are standing on ladders so they can shoot at

same level as the models on stage

Are they idiots or what ?

front roll u say?my eyes must b playing tricks on me.the ladder users, most of the time, let those w/o the ladders, take the front spots.n they r also the same ppl who would camp for the front centre spots hrs b4 the show starts.:)

true,Newton Law 's apply.so does a court of law as vince123123 mentioned tho i wont go to the extend of saying it's a case of assault.Intention of Causing Hurt works just fine.;p

@ the end of the day, whoever's able to get a good clean shots of the event is the winner.
anti ladders?then camp early for an spot.want to get a good spot with a great view yet reach the event 30mins b4 the show starts, get a ladder.:D

Go Miss World @ eastpoint and take a look for yourself.

Front row means just behind the barrier strap. :p

so after so much debate about CG, Fashion shooters and ethnics/behaviour by these ladder users...

would like to share my personal experience.. the best is to go early if possible to chop a place? unless its really 'desperate' then the ladder comes into play. most of the time, i use my ladder as a stand to rest my camera bag on, so that i can access my lens faster if needed..

morale of the story?
1. go and camp hours before the event starts, may the best equipments (ladders or other make you taller tools included) win.
2. want to reach just before the event starts, cant get a good spot and if you want to complain, my suggestion is: dont go at all. ;)

peace. just my 2cents.. :)

Then see got skill or no skill. Besides, ladder users supposed to be behind, no crowd there.

I use the term "assault" for easy undersatnding. The technical term would be causing hurt. I doubt intention alone would be a crime though, you need both actus reus and mens rea.
