Bigger Picture

Would like to have some critiques on the above pic. Regarding the composition as well as caputuring it in its silhouette. The pic does work for me with the tail boom being chopped off, as it does give a sense of being incomplete, climbing towards greater heights. Or would many think the inclusion of the tail, would give a better perspective of the heli climbing.

i personally love the love of the heli in black, gives a very scary look on how they are able to cut the skies with their fierce look.

Comments and critiques pls...

I find the composition too tight to show the climb. You might want to give the heli some space. With such a tight frame and i believe u used very fast shutter speed, the blades are nicely captured, there is no sense of movement. I cannot figure out whether the heli is climbing or falling. :dunno:

This picture does not work for me what so ever.

The cropping of the tail boom does give that imcomplete feell, but for what purpose?

The slant does tell me the picture is slanted, but I dont really feel it's climing. There is no reference.

For a silhouette, the detail is just not there, the edges are a bit blurred. Forther more, it's a machine made for war, where are the hardwares? I can barely make out the outline of something that might be the canon hanging down it's belly. No impact as a war machine.

When shooting a helicopter, because of the fast shutter spped generally used, the rotor blades are stopped in motion. Very cliche, very static, very boring. Try shooting at a slower shutter speed to let loose the rotor blades, to give it a sense of motion and spee, perhaps?

Thanks! Will take note of the framing... Would try to capture it with a frame with larger space...

Perhaps if i could get a shot of the frontal view of the heli would had a better impact? Together with a slower shutter, the movements of blades being captured. Would that crete a stronger pic?
