Helloe Csers!

I have a very very very very serious problem here. The other day i was cleaning up my laptop, transferring data from the laptop to my external 3.5". After my transfers and retransfers, i realised that i lost my school work! all 3 years of them!

thats the only folder that i can't find. Hope you guys can help me find a way to recover it.

Is there any shop that deals with data recovery?

i have tried searching all the folders in my Laptop, but to no avail.

please help! TIA!

You can DL the trial version...and see if it can recover any of your data.

If boleh, then pay. (Trial version allows you to recover 1 file a day.)

Search the forum for data recovery...some posted before and there are other solutions avaliable. (beside the one I given you.)

Mine it works...I accidentally formated my SD card with some travel shots in it...managed to recover 98% of it.

yes I have tried data recovery software
its free too
but your entire hard disk is recovered , even those you originally recovered

takes almost forever

if the data is that important, don't run the off the rack softwares. They may or maynot work, but stand a chance of further corrupting the data and making it harder to recover.

Go to a data recovery service. PM me if you want the contact of the place I use, only too many times.

woah! thx all! fast response! Thing is i didn't reformat, just accidentally delete the file. think can get it back?

don't touch your HD don't do anything to keep the file addresses of the deleted files in the HD in tact.

Your chances of a successful recovery depend a lot on how much activity (write) to that hard disk since then. If this happened to me, I'll immediately just power off that laptop now, yes, power off without a proper shutdown, then look for recovery software (need to remove the hard disk and mount it as a secondary drive on another PC) to try to recover the deleted folder/files.

Although I did not have the need of recovering deleted files but I did once accidentally deleted every single file from a SD card containing 500+ pictures from a previous trip. My gf almost killed me but this software "Recover My Files" saved my skin with only a loss of less than 5 photos :) I believe it should work equally well for your case.

And as all the bros have previously mentioned, stop all write activities on the laptop at once to ensure maximum recovery rate.

thx again for all the useful links and advise.

sadly, i lost the files a week back and only realised it now, so i guessed i must have written alot to the harddisk alraeady.

furthermore, i couldn't understand the results when i used GetDataBack. The other program was better, but that one was a trial version.

Guess i just have to try again.

if i go sim lim, how much would they charge? is the result 100% guaranteed to find my lost file?

When i was using the second program, it found the name file of the file that i lost, labeled "My school Work.", but it was a .ink file and the properties was a shortcut.

haiz. for all those who has helped. thx alot again! =)
