Backpack for travelling and dailing use

Considering amongst Lowepro MiniTrekker, CompuTrekker, CompuDaypack and CompuRover.

Like the MiniTrekker's size but it lacks a compartment for other non photographic items.

Like the Daypacks's and Rover's compartment for other non photographic things but their photographic compartment on the small side.

Those using any of the above bags, any advice?

I have the Compudaypack and like it very much... Don't quite agree with you that the CompuDaypack are smaller for the photographic stuff, I carry my Olympus E-300 with attached lens, 2 additional lenses (50mm macro and 50-200mm) and 14" laptop and still have lots of space available...

ok, what I meant was that the daypack's space for photographic stuffs is smaller when compared to the MiniTrekker's.

I am more inclined towards the Daypack actually.

if u have pro body or cam body with batt grip , comudaypack compartment is too small and will have to force alittle when zipping it , that the problem i face :bsmilie:

I have the compu daypack, and I brought it with me to Stockholm last year. Only problem with it is that there is no tripod carrier, but its quite sufficient for lots of stuff, including my D50, kit lens, a 28-300mm lens, 12-24mm lens plus lots of accessories, including my laptop.

Quite nice, but I bought an Orion AW instead, so that I could also carry my Benro tripod strapped to the bottom of the beltpack.

Although the daypack for the orion AW is kinda too flimsy for my use and I have to look for an alternate daypack for my laptop and daily stuff. Since I will be going to the UK for a year, I don't think I will be bringing my compudaypack along and would probably consider selling it (heartpain, but its free though), as I got the belt pouches and the orion AW plus lots of other stuff to carry.

Ultimately, it depends on your gear and which pack you like to use. What do you usually carry around?

A backpack might be good for travels, but in Sg, kind of over-kill.

Are you sure you really need to carry all your gear everytime you go shooting in Sg?

I am using a Nova 2 AW now.

Looking for a backpack type bag so that I can carry my photo gear plus other things, sometimes for local shooting, sometimes during work where I have to do some shooting.

Now I use the Nova 2 AW plus a Deuter backpack when I need to carry other things, very inconvenient.

Your current gear (looking at your signature) will not have problems going into the Daypack.

Once you start having larger or more bodies or lenses, yet still want to retain the capacity to carry misc stuff, you can look at the compurover.

Hmm, then what about mine then? I'm stuck using a lowerpro nova 3 AW, or a meeko, both of which are sling bags, and kills my arm after carrying for a whole afternoon. Any recommendations for me (I also have a 15.4 inch screen laptop)

Lowepro CompuRover will suit you fine.

U can get daypacks, then if the photo equipment gets too much, you can put them in the compartment for other non photographic items. E.g. if got a flash can put in the flash case & place then in compartment for other non photographic items

I can remove all the camrea inserts & use as normal backpack (yet to try it though)

might want to get a 2nd hand piece if you are not so particular in the condition..
