Appeal to Judge for parking fines by TP

No its like appeal many times to TP still cannot then need to settle in court scenario.

If I'm not wrong, you'll need to appear in court 1st (i.e. Don't compound the fine by payment and wait for a letter from TP requesting for you to appear in court - the Traffic Court that is), then mention your intention to appeal (you may need to engage a laywer before that appearance in court). In which case, you'll have to engage your own lawyer, at your own costs...

Unless your fine goes into tens of thousands. Else, just by engaging a lawyer, you could potentially be looking at $2000 - $3000 fees. Then again, if there is a miscarriage of justice, and you sought to right it, it may be worth the effort & MONEY :D

Any lawyers here to just explain the process?

TS, if u are in the wrong, just pay the fines.
my colleugue just appealed for some speeding tix and got scolded big time by judge... super paiseh.

for parking fee?

really, dun bother, no lawyer will take up your case, another reason is that the lawyer fees are already more expensive then the parking fine already.

IIRC parking fines are $30~$70.

not worth your time

If there is payment, I don't see why any lawyer will not take up the case.

i totally argree with u

i personally got it worse by apalling

u can tell everything to the TP but the end result is the same

unless some one else has succeeded in which case u can tell us here

its a long tedious process... u wanna try? and u may end up with a bigger fine.

Ya argue with those garment people, like talking to a piece of wood. The cow can come home they still don't understand. We are still very far from developed country.:(
bro, just use the GST offset to pay and move on.....

if u have a valid case, go ahead and appeal. what have u to lose??

TS, you said those government ppl are like a piece of wood and don't understand. You have your stand while they also have theirs. There is always two sides to a coin. It's easy to vent your frustration and point your finger at them but without presenting the facts here, we don't even know what the case is all about. With the facts, at least ppl here can help you access it and give their 2 cents worth.

Actually I have succeeded in an appeal for a parking fine before :)

just go TP HQ and appeal
cannot then is the time to look for your MP .. tell him/her " u know i vote for u"
haha

You got fined by TP? Write an appeal letter now to TP stating reasons why now. Depending on situation you might get fine waviered and given a warning. I have appealed and succeeded before.

If you get lawyers, go court etc..... unless u dead sure u will win..... u are going to get fine x 2. Judges dont find people who dont accept their punishment and try to appeal very amusing. In Singapore, appeals that fail are given double sentences as a punishment.

One thing for sure: Don't Go to Court. You might end up with a bigger hole in your pocket.

If you want to appeal, appeal before the offence been registered in Court system (before the due date stated in the notice) and make sure they give you a reply. If you did not hear from them, call them to find out. Once expire, it will be by the hundreds.
