As of writing, a tornado in marina area can be seen from over the CBD area. I'm looking from Hitachi tower.
Pity I don't have my camera.

This is not a tornado. Just a water sprout, lah, which is quite common around this region. It's a tornado, then we would be in big trouble.
45-50km away is close  . We never encounter tornado here. No wonder, we are no afraid here when hear "hey there are tornado in south, very near".been close to a tornado in Iowa years ago, maybe 45-50 km away, it felt like the sky is crashing in.

Yah, we called "Angin puting beliung". Not as big as tornado, but scary too.For that case, it should be a tropical Cyclone which is common around that area and Northern Australia.
my friend confirmed that it came from east coast area and he manage to take some shots using his E500, too bad he's still in the office and not allowed to use internet
I'll try if I can ask him to email me the pics and post for him.
Peace!
Nice photo. I saw it once in 1999 around Changi Airport.Sorry, due to my phone camera, I am unable to have a better clear image but this is how it look like from my workplace!
Tornado? Is it over land or water? If over water means its a Waterspout
