No safety rope for bouldering. Absolutely.

There're mats below to break your fall.

"Rockmaster is a annual bouldering event organized by Singapore Polytechnic Rock Climbers(SPRC). Held in conjunction with the SP River Raft Race, it is located in front of "Central" at Clark Quay on 19th and 20th May 2007.

Firstly, bouldering is rock climbing without ropes, harnesses or any safety devices. Just a short wall ranging from 4m(Rockmaster) to 7.5m(X-Games). In the event of a fall, there will be crash pads and supporters to protect the climber.

In bouldering, climbers are given a certain amount of time to complete a route and are judged on the amount of attempts they take to reach the furtherest point in that route." taken from germ-boi

The people helps to protect the climbers are call spotters and not supporters. Anyway nice pics, I was there also to support my college juniors. Saw quite a lot of photographers around.

A huge turnout for the open category. The atmosphere was fantastic.:sweatsm:
