Hi guys,

after playing ard with 400D, D80 and a100, i m leaning towards a100. mainly due to the super steady shot(impt to me), dust prevention and the nice IQ.

However, got qn to ask.
Intent is to get the body from sony and 2nd hand lenses here, wats the recom affordable lenses to get?
I will shooting landscapes, portraits, abit of macros and zooms.

BTW, I will be selling the storage device, any takers?

Thanks.

Try looking at Galdor's lens sale. You can usually get the 50mm f1.7 from 100-200 SGD depending on the quality.

Other than that, there are a lot of Sigma and Tamron lenses for sale. Dyxum.com has great reviews.

that sounds like a large range! you may want to focus on what interests you most, and invest carefully. there are lots of 2nd hand and/or 3rd party lenses out there, just be sure to buy lenses for the "A" and not "MD/MC" mount. the latter are pre-dynax/ maxxum/alpha days and will not fit without adapters and even then its full manual.

I have the adapter if you want.

Thanks for all the info. pls keep them coming.:D

Join the A100 outings, you'll see a huge range of lenses to test. :D

Also go to a sony gallery and test the lenses.

wah bro sure or not? he see the $$$$ there, he'll :faint:
:bsmilie: better if he just sticks to the b&s forums here :bsmilie:

I said test, not buy... Test test test, then look for it cheap here or on ebay or dyxum forums. :)

I am still on my kit lens... thinking of some upgrades as well but dunno what is good to get for beginners. I mainly take snapshots and portriats

hmmm

me also beginner.. what other lens can i get ?

i suppose you should be a good walkabout lens
around 18-200 not sure which brands have it for sony camera~~

then u will find out if you prefer to take landscapre or zoomed up pictures.

THEN invest in the f2.8 lenses (which are always costly)

if u get the 50mm you will find it very limiting if you take group photos~~

Cant seems to find any1 selling 18-70mm or 18-200mm lens for a100 in the b&s section. Any1 selling?
