C&C pls

aim to focus on the last key of the piano and hope to achieve a 'distance' feeling... but didn't seems to get it right

very flat pic with no evident focus point.
very grainy
try cropping the pic on the left side, u dun need to show the end of the piano to depict a feeling of distance. tilt the angle of the camera for effect.

If you wanna play with DOF, I suggest you redo with a tripod, and larger aperture. That will ease you of the high noise in your picture and create more depth.

I am not in favour of the white balance you chose as the notion of piano keys are white and black. Yours is orange...

Composition wise, try exploring shooting in portrait instead of landscape and see how it works out.

Also reflection of the window is distracting to your image. And WB as mentioned is a very strong factor esp when you know the colour isn't as such.

Picture a bit grainy. You should also close the curtains to eliminate the reflection of your lounge. Like the rest of the bros here say, a tripod will help tremendously in lowering the noise and allowing to use small aperture for maximum DOF.

I'm not familiar with the Fuji S5700 but if I'm not wrong its largest aperture is f3.5. Might be better at the widest angle focal length because longer focal would "compress" the distance. To squeeze more obvious DOF effect might be difficult with such a lens.

wanna thanks all for the C&C, really valuable.. with all the details to take note of.. no wonder photography is such a interesting hobby... really got so much more to learn ..
yes s5700 largest aperture is f3.5..
grainy is it becos i blow up the pic too bid or my hand shaking ? or wrong setting/skill?
the yellowish keyboard i think could be due to I on my living room yellow light ( no white light in the living room :( )
Will take note of all the C&C and will do another one and see if there's any improvement..

thanks again everyone

Change the white balance to tungsten or incandescent and you may get back your white keys, try it. ;)
