Hi,

Previously i bought a casio exilim camera at SLS, recommended by the salesman there n strangely he kept recommending this particular brand only as i told him i want a camera with good stabilization as to capture moving objects and people. However, when i read e spec, its doesnt have the image stabilization at all, only anti blur/shake feature. felt cheated.

When i download the pics, it was such a disappointment cos the colour tone is not as good as my old camera Nikon coolpix s1.

Right now i m going to get a new one again. So any recommendations? pls. advise. Thanks.

I think Nikon has some cameras with VR function. Maybe u check those out, since u seem kinda like Nikon.

sorry may i know wat is VR function?

My 1st camera was Nikon 885, 2nd one was Nikon coolpix S1. Love both colours...
Now no time to do research on camera, very busy....so seek advise from this forum.

anymore?

Actually i would recommend Canon Ixus 70. :)

VR = Vibration Reduction (just like image stabiliser, anti-shake, etc), it helps to reduce the image blurring (by some mechanism inside the camera) caused by slow shutter speed and hand-vibration on the user-side.

Since u no time to do research, then i also cannot help u much as i also not sure what exactly u want. just pop into some photo shops and ask for Nikon camera with VR function and test to see if u like it. but be careful, doing less research might means kanna chop carrot head at SLS. be warned.

Fujifilm F31d

usable high ISO better.

my vote for f31. ixus 70 no stabliser.

What on earth are you doing in SLS???? The only thing they'll do to someone who has not done their research (like you) is to use you to offload their unmoveable stock.

I suggest you go to John 3:16, 5th floor Funan. They will give you honest feedback.

I am using IXUS 70. Like the form (That's all). Lol. If you want the image stabilization, then have to get the series with 'IS' after the model number.

The salesman push to sell you the casio because the profit margin for that brand is higher and also difficult to sell because the camera not very good.

agree. move old stock to bring in new stock. q common in sls. unless u personally know someone der, whom u can trust. if not, not v safe to shop at sls. prob u can surf dpreview (www.dpreview.com) to see the diff specs. and see which model satisfy ur requirements. things u can consider is whether if u take nite shots v often. if so, go for a camera which can perform in low light condition. if u dun mind the camera thickness, prob u can check out f20 selling at ms colour at 299. go tis website to check the low light performance of diff cam. www.highiso.net. hope tis helps.

Hi,

thanks for the advise. Alot of ppl actually recommended Alan photo after i bought my camera. sigh.

How abt Canon ixus 850, Nikon Coolpix S200 and Fuji Z5?

CAnon n nikon one i went to courts n these are e latest models.
Good? Any reviews?

panasonic which model?

ixus 70 no image stabilization....hmm i m looking for image stabilization leh n good color tone (after downloading). cos the casio i bot, fr the LCD camera screen, the photos look fabuluous but when come to downloading to PC, the color cant make it :(

Ya, never judge a pic by its camera display. Else you will say that sony has the best pic le. Cos they invest on their screen mah.

image stabilisation and anti-shake feature meant the same thing. but some compacts mislead users by claiming high ISO option as image stabilisation.

i'm never familiar with compact and find DSLR easier to use. but if you are asking for good colors, fujifilm might fit that as their forte in sensor technology. i've used F11 and find it able to give at least in that aspect.

however i can see that you wanted easy fast results based purely on equipment. i'm afraid you may still be disappointed if you set too high an expectation on equipment alone.

any budget to work within? from the 3 models, i can safely say it's within 600. if u dun mind the camera thickness, go for fuji f series. it has good colour tone and good for night shots. U can try f20 and f31. f20 and f31 going at 299 free 512 and 499 (refer to www.mscolor.com.sg) respectively.

Hey bro,

No recommending any cameras in particular here, but just let you know there's an offer at audiohouse now. quite some PnS cams and other electronics at 50% discount.
Dunno when the offer ends though.

check out
www.audiohouse.com.sg

and no, i dun work for them or anything, just happen to receive their promotion catalogue in my letterbox yesterday.. :)

Fuji reall good meh? Cos i m looking at canon or nikon or olympus in the 1st place. Never thought of Fuji....hmm....

btw IS n anti blur is different thing. Anti blur/shake hv to be set ourselves before shooting. However for IS, its embedded inside, no need set anything.

I want to look for a one that comes w IS leh. F31fd dun hv IS leh....
