"Well, great huh! My colleagues including me, dislike my boss. By the way, he just gave me more work to do, on top of other things! I don't know how to voice out to him that I'm so stressed up right now.

I've got myself sick these few days. Had diarrhea last Thu, hurt my knee and was limping badly since last Sunday, had breathlessness since Wed & fainted after work on that day at my office lift lobby, knocked my head against the wall when I fainted, collapsed again last night at home.

Now my chest feels really tight & breathing is really tough. Getting up & walk, I just feel like I'm carrying a heavy baggage of few hundred kilos & I'll start to feel really weak & dizzy. Doc just said I'm really stressed out. sigh..... what should I do? Quit? or continue this ultra-super stressful job? I've got a contract of 6 mths to fulfill... 3 months to commit."

"she wants to remind everyone and to pass to as many people as possible to remind them of the importance of health. Those who want to read it I'm sure she meant it for everyone since it's accessible for all.

Please take good care and not work out your health just for money."

To conclude, Health is Wealth.

 :embrass:

You know, Deceased is on my ignore list, but I just find it immensely hilarious that

A person with that nick is posting something with a title with something to do with death. =D

Sometimes can't blame the bosses.
Your superiors might wanna impress his/her superiors...and so, to get things done,

S/he might pressured the staffs under him/her to do more work, more efficiently.
Fast, good and cheap.

I guess for employees, especially contractual ones.
If one can't handle the workload and stress level, it is better to highlight to the boss.

Do not keep quiet and keep everything to yourself. (please do not think it is incompetent)
If superior brush the problem aside or do not wish to solve it,
Highlight to the HR or next superior.

Afterall, life doesn't revolve on work only.
Health and family are the top priority.

such cases are not new, just barely 2 months ago, someone also died from extreme work stress in a stock brokerage firm near my office. I also knew some high profile people who drove BMW, Merc, making 10k a month had many illness inside their bodies but they looked very cool on outside. They worked long hours, often stressed up and many ended up heavy smokers, heavy drinkers or even addicted to sex.

so.. do take care of your working life, it can make u or it can break u. Once broken, cost of repair is often much more than what u earned in your job. So.. do live a balanced life.

;)

i know many who are addicted to smoking, drinking and sex and don't hold high profile, high earning jobs... :bsmilie:

Addiction do not choose which type of people, however stress left unmanaged brings one much closer to its grips.

some possible, but funny news :p

"photographer died after falling off a 2-step ladder"
"sports photog died after being knocked on the head by a Bigma"

EDIT: just read the replies.. does that mean 2 HP contract staff passed away?

Apparantly seems to be.

She mentioned received a company email about a HP contract staff died of heart attack and left only his wife and kids.

:embrass: :( :embrass:

Sad to hear this news. She's still so young and really a sad case of literally "dying on the job". It is not clear, though, what's the cause of her death. Heard it could be related to sudden rush of blood to the heart after sitting for so long at the computer.

Got to really learn how to balance work and life. I must say she is a really dedicated staff, even though she may be a contingent worker.
