Fogs in landscape shots, how to prevent/cancel?

Was shooting some landscape photos of my hometown, they tend to have
fogs in far distant. It was spring afternoon and fogs were not visible under
the sun. Is it possible to minimize that in camera?
 

Not that I know.

Using a CPL might cut a little bit away though, but not all, from experience.
 

well... applying anti fog solution definitely will not solve your problem... ;p

i suggest why not make use of the fog instead, since we seldom see foggy pics around here...
 

UV filters are suppose to partly cut off the fog effect..

Fog could be very much welcomed in this parts of the world!

Besides the B+W, there's the supposedly lower grade Tiffen Haze-1 filter that may or may not do the trick.

that's nice.

but i shot mainly documentary stuff, was away from home for some years, so..
next time if spend long time there, might as well shoot sun rise/set stuff.
