how i scratched my viewfinder

how? i woke up at 6 am thinkin of going to take some photos then i noticed so dust so i took out my blower and blow the inside of the viewfinder (juz above the mirror, the prism i think, yes its really expensive) cuz i knew the dust was there frm last night the next thing i know i accidentally scratched it... damn sad (and yes dun do stunt when u are tired). now theres a "fur" when i look thru my viewfinder. what shd i do? need like a vote thing to see what yall will do.... pic quality of cuz not affected but its irritating, im thinking of gettin it changed? but i know, even thou i dunno how much itll cost, after i hear the price i will jump out of my seat. using d70s btw... what yall think? im lost.

most likely its a piece of 'fur' on the focusing screen, and not the prism, also, you need not change any parts... just send it in for servicing and they will remove the dust for you.

its not dust, i scratched it, i can see the scratch mark. im not sure what its called. its insdie the camera above the mirror the area that projects the image onto ur viewfinder.. isnt that the prism?

nope... its the focusing screen, the one with the focusing points and markings... the prism is normally inaccessible.

Take it as a blessing in disguise; now you have reason to go buy a split prism & buy manual focus lens

IIRC its about 100+ to replace a focusing screen... you gotta check with NSC.

i juz checked its only $47. do u think i can get it replaced at 3rd party outlets like camera hospital? cuz i know they're generally cheaper. :dunno:
