i lost a 'friend' today.

sometimes i wonder if speaking the truth, speaking your heart out, shooting what's in your brain is really wrong.

i use to admire this person's works.
just because i was too frank, too outspoken,
i believe i lost him as a friend, a fellow hobbyist.

maybe i should change my character and put on a mask with a fake pretentious smile?

its not about changing, as u said so yourself, it will be fake. Since you have already pinpointed your own shortfalls, why not just improve on it or tone down on the problem areas?

Well i believe its not wrong to speak ur mind.Its better to have a fren who's sincere n honest then someone who's fake n pretentious.Hopefully ur fren will see this and realise he/she has a fren who doesnt put on faces around him/her

it is unfortunate that this happened, but it is not the first time nor will it be the last time ...

at the end of the day, yu must be able to live with yourself, your own actions ... can you live with the fact that you sold out and put on a mask with a fake pretentious smile?

if it's a true friend, and you were merely telling the truth even if it's painul, the friendship should not suffer ...

if the friendship is lost merely because you were telling the truth, it is a freindship not worth maintaining ...

I think it's not wrong to speak out what you think is true, but tactful may help to reduce the bad impact. Sometime we also need to respect what other people opinions also, which may be much different from one own.

im not disagreeing with you, yes i believe in honesty. But i do believe in tact as well. And yes i do not believe in sugar coated stuff as well. I can be as direct as i wanna be, but one through experience will learn when to "tarik back" and when not to.

I have many enemies too from being too honest. But I have many diehard friends too because I'm honest. I simply figure that the 20% that appeciated the "real" me are worth infinitely more than the 80% who only wanted to hear good stuff.
