Dell 27 inch monitor users, please help

HI,
recently just realised this problem.
it may have been there all along,i dont know.

when i open a pic in photoshop(CS3), drag to the left side of the screen, the pic looks slightly desaturated.when i open another SAME pic and drag it to the right of the screen, it shows more saturated than the one on the left.

if you drag the right pic to the left of the screen, the saturation matches the one on the left.

you have to sit directly smack center of the LCD screen.

can you please help check if you have this problem?

Dell replaced my monitor today.it's BRAND NEW.and yet the problem is still there.:cry:

my graphics card is geforce 7600GT nvidia.

i even bought another card to try before Dell changed my monitor.
and the problem is still there.

could it be my graphics card?dont tell me i got to get the 'top of the range' card to support this monitor.

The colours are not completely uniform on mine when viewed from the centre. It gets lighter towards the sides.

But if I move my head towards the side, it's changes back to as when it's in the centre.

Using 6800 for my gfx.

I think the dell 24 and above lcd don't have really good uniformity with brightness and colours gamut leh.

go to nvidia.com update ur gcard driver.download nvidia's software forceware.check ur gcard
settings be sure it support ur lcd.I would suggest u get a quadro since u r investing on high end equipment.i got it around sgd 1600.00-fx1400.

It can be due to the quality of the monitor itself.

Do take a trip to Simlim, look at the monitors and move your head around (side to side and up and down), you'll noticed that for most monitors, the image will change in color, saturation and brightness when you change your viewing angle in relation to the monitor.

Apple is one of the only one that comes with a very large "work-able" viewing angle. The image does not change when you change you viewing position, I've been through a few monitors before settling on an Apple Display.

So what you're seeing might be related to the quality of the materials they use to built the screen, or the tolerence of parts they reject or keep.

Yep. LCDs tend to have very narrow viewing angles (deviation from viewing at a normal to the pixel).

The only difference between a workstation graphic card like the Quadro line and standard graphic cards is how they render 3D objects or scenes. While a consumer graphics card places emphasis on speed (getting the most FPS), workstation graphic cards render each screen (in a 3D movie like Finding Nemo) or object (modeling) with extreme precision, ensuring an object is accurate right down to the pixel. So while consumer graphic cards may have the occasional glitch when rendering, workstation ones don't.

If you spent that much on a graphic card and don't do heavy 3D rendering, I'm sorry to say you've wasted your money dude..

i connect to my 19 inch philips, no such problems.but then again philips is not wide screen lor.:cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

Nope. Viewing angle is a physical limitation of the monitor's design.

Maybe get a neutral party, your family member, put the same pic side by side, ask if they find any difference in the 2 shots.

The Dell 27" is suppose to wide colour gamut and newer technology than the 30".

now then I know large screen LCD will also cause user to face narrow viewing angle issue :sweat:
May be have to wait until OLED screen to solve the problem.

friends, family members all CONFIRM it.

things like saturation WONT escape my eyes.
i'm so into portraiture now i see a subtle color off a mile away.
