Hi All,

Just went to Philippines for a short trip w/ some other CSers. Here I'd like to share some people, mostly kids photos from the trip. The crops on most of them are too tight I think, would be better if I captured abit wider scenes on some of them.

Here you go:

What an excellent set of images!

The only thing that nags me a little is your post work with "Shadows and Highlights"... the blacks are unnaturally greyish... but that is personal preference. Nice set of images you have shot there... wow!!

well done.

What's with the blood bath?

The kids walked around those devotees of Crucifixion, that's why he got the blood stains all over him ;) I myself got quite a bit on my own shirt, although I tried to avoid getting any close to them ...

If you need to try an alternative calibrator other than your own, please let me know and I am happy to lend you mine. I calibrate my screen once fortnightly to make sure everything is ok or when I have any change in lighting in my room. PM me bro.

That's so nice of you :) I'm using the cheap Spyder2 Express, but my monitors were calibratored several months back. Need to do it again. Will pm you later and see if yours works better than mine ;) Thanks btw.

Nice spontaneous portraits. You've brought across a "feel" of what life must be like in the Philippines. The happy side, at least.

This poor kid's probably suffering from kwashiorkor. Was he living in the countryside?

The kid does live in the countryside, and you might be right, he's probably living in a very poor family. Here are his friends or brothers/sisters (they all look quite alike) :

nice shots.... but i find some of them too tight. wider shots might have helped put some context/background into the picture -- to offer the viewer a better understanding of the surroundings. good shots nonetheless.

Thanks, and I totally agree w/ your comments (see my top post ;)). Should've shot in abit wider angles on most of them...

nice photos... i miss being back at home to see all those people carrying the cross... hopefully i can catch them again next year...
