I cannot decide if this is a crap picture or good picture.
On one hand, the technical side of the shot is wrong, but yet, the feel of the shot is right.
Taken at the rehearsal of a concert. The light mood prior to a major show is something hard
to capture as artistes are usually having a stomach full of butterflies before the gig, regardless
of how calm they look. Fan Wei Qi was clowning around on stage during rehearsals.

what separates an impressionistic photograph and a blur/out-of-focus photograph is fundamentally the picture's ability to communicate. key elements like the visible smile and facial expression and movement suggested by her ponytail swinging in the air makes the picture workable. like an impressionist painting, the impetus to consciously compose is often unnecessary. this works for me as a pleasant portrait of Fan Fan, but there's not enough attractive qualities in the picture to wow me.

Yup, tried to convert to B&W and it turned out worse because of the background... and the white just washed out... so that did not make the image any better.

One of the lighting stands for the music scores. It was right behind her.

Conceptually it has the potentials to be a nice piece of work. The blur adds a softness which enhances the impact of the image. It also suggests motions.
Though there was no eye contact, it is her petite smile that commands attention.
Aesthetically, a lovely shot make more so by her professionalism. Improving the image? I will want to lose that shiny frame to the right of her. Overall, a unique portrait.

I think the shot while unsharp depcits action and motion.

I don't think that there's a technical failure, photos need not necessarily be always pin sharp to be deemed well taken; however, the only failure is having framed her in half!

At the onset, I see her in motion, but I cannot see what she really is in motion about if not for the microphone...

A full length body shot will yield her in motion of a dance or prance...

Overall I say well done... if it is intended..

This picture doesn't work for me because it is out of focus. You usually want to depict motion on situations (where OOF is acceptable) that really need them, for example, an F1 race. She is just having a concert here, there's no strong need to show motion.

This is just my comment, if you feel happy about it, then it is ok...
