I was at K13 today looking for a flash. The owner told me that Metz had better consistency and that Nikon cannon and other brands had varience in color temperature from frame to frame. I tested what he said (fired off 7 shots mounted on a tripod) and found no difference. Is the Metz flash and better than the original brands?

I don't really know...never used Metz b4, but where is k13?

They are located at Peninsula Plaza 2nd floor near the escalator.

my guess is that metz don't have the ttl flash, u set the settings n it'll fire consistently. u jus shoot n see whether it comes out ok. jus my 0.01 guess. if any disagrees or have other xplanation pls enlighten me, i'm eager to learn more, thanks.:)

Metz does support TTL. Not to mention Nikon's 3D multi sensor TTL metering, Canon's E-TTL flash control, and high-speed synchronization (HSS).

From my personal experience, the Metz will certainly give a better consistency with the varying conditions as compared with Canon flash but not sure against Nikon. The colour should also be better.

I love Metz, especially the hammerheads ...

Tan if u interested pass u the metz one of these day to tryout

The Metz flashes are very reliable and robust. Love them.

They have a warm colour cast which is very pleasing. Like shooting with an 81A warming filter attached.

They work very well in Auto mode even with dSLRs.

I particular like the CL-45s and CT-60s models, the one time mainstay of many a wedding photog and photojournalist during the film era.

The CT60 models use dryfit batteries which provide very fast recycle times and no memory problems.

Is there any Metz flash that is fully compatible with Nikon D80 and work as well as the SB600. How much?

i heard that Metz flash is better than canon n nikon becoz it has a front flash to light up the floor. :dunno:

is it stil in production? last time i heard it dat da cmpany has shut down or someting like dat, n may have problems getting spare parts:dunno:

Check out the new Metz 58 AF-1, the world's first USB TTL flashgun. This GN58 ISO100 flash offers home upgrading via USB as camera technology changes and is 100% compatible with both the Nikon and Canon remote systems.

Have the Metz 76 MZ5, very heavy. For sale now as it is not used.

Not the company itself, just the Sg distributor gave up the distributorship. Jessen & Jebsen used to carry the brand. Now Tithes Mkting has taken over.
