I have been working in HK for 2 weeks now. I see a lot of Tamrac Bags here. How are those as compared to Lowepro?

cost more than lowepro for the same range/type but not so common tho...i was looking for lowepro orion trekker II but end up bought myself a tamrac adventure 7 instead..

Tamracs aren't that popular (not sure but thats how i see it) in SG at least, prob because of the price difference, but they're hardy bags and don't easily go out of form even with a full load and continuous usage.

I still love my System 5606. (because its the only bag i'll need:bsmilie:)

Tamrac has better build and padding than lowepro but also at a higher cost. Wont go wrong with Tamrac. Lowepro often leaves something to be desired.

Lowepro cannot fight with Tamrac lah. Different league.

I'd probably get a Tamrac today. It's a easier to get than Lowepro here.

Tamrac is way better.

oh.. I have not been looking at Tamrac... Any good backpack models that I can look at? Where is the best place to get a tamrac?

So far i know K13 brings them in but its abit pricey. Theres this shop at Plaza Singapura that sell Tamracs also, but they don't bring it some models of bags (like my system 6), but they have lots of accesories.

The uncle there gives small discounts when you buy stuff there. eg, i got my Lens case $2 off from the stated price..

... :bsmilie:

a number of us buy tamracs from TK Foto over at Shaw Towers, beach road.

to be fair, when it comes to the sheer variety of bags, lowepro is the champ, IMO. they got just abt a bag or 2 for any purpose u can think of. they might not be pretty or comfortable to use. but, u can't fault them on variety. :)

Go bag shopping at TK foto. Very recommended. Good prices, friendly service and good free advice. They're always willing to open up a package to let you try and see the size

I never bought anything from K13 because I prefer not to see the face of the boss. Always black like Justice Bao.

will any1 willing to pay $30 more for the same monopod from there?

Ah... Justice Bao is good black... All criminals get their just desserts... Can't say the same thing for staff at that shop, though....

On my other thread http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?p=2996638#post2996638

I asked for bag to fit:
1. Laptop (max 15")
2. Canon 400D w/o grip (no grip even in the future, do not like grips)
3. 17-40L
4. 80-200L
5. Flash
6. A4 file about 1 inch thick.
7. 1 or 2 books, A5 size.

Someone recommended 5549, adventure 9. Anyone knows about how much it would cost? My guess is S$300+. Am I even close??

Seriously want to get a "perfect" backpack. Perfect means for me Items #1 to 7 (above) can be fitted in.
