colors are dull because you filled up the whole frame with water/rocks which are white or dark to black color, not much of green/red... etc

there is sensor difficulty to cope with wide latitude. and predominantly white background will result in a negative metering of white to midgrey, hence dull. and even in midgrey, you still see the water losing details but not smooth enough. that is where the flow is neither here or there (frozen or smooth)

where is this waterfall?

which part of taiwan is it?

That was a very beautiful & calm scenery to take picture! GOOD!!!

ExplorerZ, zoossh,
Interesting comments from you. What should one do in such a scenario ? Would it help to do some exposure compensation - similar to what is said that one should compensate 1 or 2 stops when shooting snow (so that the snow comes out white rather than gray) ?

Picture was taken at 十分 near to taipei
Its quite a famous waterfall in taiwan, if u happen to be there, just tell the taxi driver to bring u there :)
It is the biggest waterfall in Taiwan, i was there abt 15 yrs ago when i was doing my industrial attachment as Ngee Ann Poly student.:D
Take train and alight at 十分 station, couple minutes walk/trek and you will be able to view it.
Kind of miss it..
