hello:

i have a sigma 8mm len for nikon.
is it possible to put it and use it in canon body?
if yes. wht kind of thing do i need to buy and will the len function as same as on nikon body ? (eg... auto focus, len data)

cheers:bsmilie:

I think there is a 3rd party adaptor available in the market. However, not too sure where you can get them. As for functionality, afraid I can't give you any, cos I'm a Nikon Cam user. Never tried a Canon with a NIkon lens set-up...:)

there is "nikon lens to canon body" adaptor. but u need to manual focus.
the adaptor comes in two types. one can do infinity focus (more expensive) and the other cannot.

tks all for the info. ;)

Nikon cameras cannot use canon lenses simply because it's not compatible... not other reasons...IIRC, it's due to the lens mount to sensor/film plane distance. Nikon mount is further than Canon's. Canon's mount is also larger than Nikon's.

There is a some good Canon lenses out there... to be fair.

Manual all the way! Focusin, metering, stop down before shooting.

And no VR even if the lens is

I really don't see your logic.

The reason why you can't mount a Canon lens on a Nikon body is because the lens mount of a Canon lens is larger than that of a Nikon lens. With the smaller mount on your Nikon body, you can't mount a larger lens mount even with adapter.

What has it got to do with built and quality? Please get your facts right, and don't write flame baits.
