hi, i need some guidance and advice from you helpful people here....
i will be the photographer for my nephew one year old birthday party this weekend at his house(indoors). My first time taking such situation. Any advice and guidance anyone can provide me with? What kind camera settings are best used? flash? others? I have only one chance.
Thanks all....

Bounced flash... Iso 200 - 400, f5.6 or smaller... do remember to shoot more wide angles and some of the close-ups of the fun... ;)

anymore tips?

you might want to tell us you equipments first. easier to give more useful advice.

adjust your white balance to suit the indoor lightning.
have a mid-zoom ready so that u can zoom in on the kids at a distance

Yup - you should defnitely tell us your equipment. You can shoot without much flash etc if you have a 35mm or 50mm f/1.8 or 1.4 prime, or even an 85mm, although 85mm may be a bit too long on a non full frame body.

In indoors, not that easy. Esp with active kids. Even if you bumped up the ISO to 800, the shutter speed may not be good enough.

i will be using 17-40L

print on 4R, ISO 800 is fine.
use ceiling bounce, bounce card, omnibounce are fine,
1/30~1/60, f5.6~f8.

just some party pictures, everyone want sharp and clear photos, so don't go too fancy try low shutter speed, available light shots if you are not good at it.
