Now watching true files (channel 8), noticed that in the past Singapore has a jury system of seven people (pei shen yuan). Now the legal system doesnt have, how come:dunno:

If you have read history.

The jury system was abolished by MM LKY.

MM LKY was a lawyer

If you have read even deeper.

There was a case in Singapore in the past where a supposingly guilty person was found not

guilty by the jury.

Juries are easily persuaded to sway their verdicts... Dun forget, they are normal ppl too and why would they want to spend time away from their life to pass a verdict over someone who is not related to them??

Just look at US. What is their legal system like... :bsmilie:

with juries, you place a certain degree of the trial outcome on social expectations as well... rather then simply "by the book"

anyway.... anyone noticed that the prosecutor is Francis Seow? Got me interested to read up a bit about him and history... and LKY...
