Should we?
I was told sometime ago, that I am supposed to live like a Swiss soon.
To achieve this vision, I think it is good to import some competition and FT to replace the unwilling lots.

A few good fishing ponds:

Switzerland:
Population: 7.5 million
GDP Per Capital: $50,532
Economy: Swiss Chocolate

Denmark:
Population: 5.4 million
GDP Per Capital: $47,984
Economy: Danish Cookies

Ireland
Population: 4.2 million
GDP Per Capital: $50,150
Economy: Irish Beer.

Please note: All the above mentioned have high standard of living and good welfare.
You are free to make a choice. After that your choice controls you.

Please do not discuss Pay and Politics in this thread, it is not allowed.
Keep it strictly to Economics discussion.
Thank you.

Why go to such an extend to disguise this thread as a non political discussion when it is so obviously one? Don't make things difficult for the moderators.

Even if you want to bash "Pay and Politics", at least get your facts right. Else no one will take you seriously. Here is some leads: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switzerland#Economy. No point posting half truth.

anyway i see this as an attempt at a pseudo-discourse on some economics issue pertaining to current issues with neither sufficient backing of real information nor rigid theoretical bases.

Looks like food.

Got cookies, got chocolate, got beer..

Now also got satay.

You want to take out popcorn also? =-D

getting a little sick of popcorn, sushi will be nice, with some sake to go with.

Aiyah, live in Singapore, don't know your country's GDP. How to help foreigners know about this fantastic place if you don't know this info? The answer for all you not paying attention, is about US$30900 as provided by the.........CIA!!! https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/print/sn.html

This from official figures (if you can make sense of it)

Yes, don’t make it difficult for the moderators, so lets look at things from a pure economics point of view. We are not in parliament, so don’t have to be so serious in Kopitiam.
“Truth” You want the truth? If I put up a comparison table, can the moderators tolerate the truth? Sometimes it is best to leave truth to our own discretion.

What is it about the Switzerland that should be said? Do you find any similarities in these three economies? Can relate to Singapore’s economy?

Now the topic is about outsourcing Top Jobs, is it viable?

Like I said, that is not Econs.

I have no idea what the heck you mean by Switzerland's economy being run by Swiss chocolate or something. It's probably some Jedi mind trick, right?

Btw, if you click on eikin's link, my dear troll, there is no mention of chocolate anywhere. Last post here, will not bother feeding you.

If I were the mods, I would just close this thread, it's a waste of time to read since there is no intention to discuss anything seriously and is trying to masquerade as such.

my guess is we got "rojak"!

correct, correct?... :bsmilie:

I won't be surprised if that is what it takes to survive. Khaw Boon Wan is from where? Next time there could be one that originate from china or india. So any problem?

Dear fellow troll:

My level of understanding is not as high as you, I am just trying to put up some concerns that I am feeling below here. Therefore, it is easier for you to give this thread a miss if you do not like it or find it not serious enough. I am not surprise that an autocrat will want to suppress threads and ideologies that are not to his liking. Maybe this could explain why our top students are trashed in the Arena debate.

You are very smart to see Swiss chocolate as mind trick, but did you get the main topic of interest “Outsourcing Top Jobs”?
If Economics does not apply here, what does? Is it Engineer or Arts?

What I see from below here, is that we have a capable but unwilling team.
Standard of living depends on a nation’s productivity.
When overhead costs out paced productivity, where are we heading?
Since cost of administration is rising, should we outsource the top jobs and what are the repercussions of such tactics?
I brought up these three economies because I felt that there are some similarities and maybe we could emulate them at some points.
I really like the idea of importing some FTs from these economies to keep our administrative costs competitive?
It is good to import competitive talents, but if we failed to lure them with very good money, what does it speak of our top appointment holders.

Look at how we deal with SIA’S pilots union. Do we just give in to the pilots’ demands just like that?

anyway i see this as an attempt at a pseudo-discourse on some economics issue pertaining to current issues with neither sufficient backing of real information nor rigid theoretical bases.

Wow eikin, you still stick around and watch. I get depressed reading Silence Sky's threads. :bsmilie: The TS must be kidding when he wanted to talk about economics.
