Seen this camera in Australia at A$580 (about S$700). Its waterproof to 10m, drop from from 1.5m, pressure proof up to 100kg and temperature proof till minus 10C.
Is it sold in Spore and if so where and what is the price?

Just looking for a basic waterproof camera that i can use without the nuisance of having to purchase/use a waterproof casing.

If anyone has this camera, I'd appreciate some feedback.

RRP S$699

Has an led type light for macro photography like those found on pre xeon flash handphone camera.

I've taken pictures underwater using this camera and I'm pleased with the sharpness and vibrant colours. Its worth it if u need a waterproof camera. $699 from the Olympus website, can be bought at major camera shops.

My mini evaluation:
Sharpness: 8/10
Colour and contrast: 8/10
User-friendly: 7/10
Price: 7/10

Bought this camera at Marina SQ for S$590 cash. Took it to Maldives with me and took a couple of underwater shots.

Only complain is the night shots.

Love the video taken with my kid in the pool.

Hi,
I posted similar questions about this camera sometime ago. Still considering, it's either this or the younger (cheaper) sibling.
How's the time lag between snapping 2 photos?
If possible, pls post some non-PSed pics. tks.

Here are some photos I took using Olympus Mju 770SW.

thanks for sharing the pics dsia. I'm also considering this little cam...btw, where were
the pics taken ? seems like a nice island resort.

Hi cookiez,

The photos were taken during my trip to laguna maldives resort.

Hey guys.... I cant help but got myself the Olympus Mju 770SW..

Its a little heavy for a compact camera, but for its features, everything else can be forgiven..

Still waiting for a chance to explore the camera's full potential N canpacity..

The pics tat DSia took, I find them okie. As in color wise, looks good to me, maybe up a little saturation will do.. By the way, thx DSia for the pics...

Anyone has great sorkeling place to recommend ??

I just bought the camera too last week.
Just a few comments for everyone;

The price you just cant beat. For that price you are getting a shockproof, waterproof, metal camera. You cant even buy a decent underwater case at double the price of this cam.

Yep its heavy for a compact, which may not be a bad thing, the thing is made of metal able to withstand shocks and pressure.

From experience, the LCD can be hard to see in bright light, especially when you are all wet, and you are swimming without goggles.
Underwater itself, the screen is fine with googles, but its impossible to see without goggles.

The lens area is quite small, so if you want to take those nifty half underwater half out of water shot, it can be quite a challenge. To get the water level between that 2 cm square area of the lens

The camera seem to have separate focusing for underwater and out of water, I find the underwater focusing to be quite slow. Water quality may have been a factor I dont know.
This coupled with the difficulty of viewing the LCD underwater makes it impossible to take a properly framed shot, in fact most of the time I was just shooting blind.

BUT... despite of the shortcomings... its a very interesting camera to take around.
You can just dip it in the water without worrying about cleaning seals, putting cream all over the seals, like for those underwater casings. Its almost 0 maintenance.
Think of it as an underwater point and shoot toy, and at that price, who can complain?

If you take your family out to the beach often, I highly recommend the camera.

Forgot to mention it takes great VGA video underwater too, amazing!

Any sample photo for this Mju 770SW? So far nobody post any picture yet.

Huh ??? I tot those pics above are taken by Oly 770SW ??

THose taken by DSia..

maybe he was referring to some underwater pics.

I tried it out at Best Denki. The lag time in between shots is acceptable for a PnS. The salesman was commenting the colour is not as bright/rich which is confirmed here and that the seals might need to be serviced once every year :dunno:

pentax have their w-series of waterproof digicams. wonder if other makes will jump into the pool (pun intended)

Sorry for being OT...

Where do u guys normally go for snorkelling??
