SINGAPORE: Today was to have been the day former NKF chief TT Durai( Thambirajah Tharmadurai (born 1948), which means a charitable man in Tamil, better known as T T Durai) would find out if he would walk free from his criminal trial - but proceedings could not go on as he was taken ill.

Durai complained in court on Monday afternoon that he was not feeling well.

On Tuesday, his medical certificate stated he has an upper respiratory tract infection.

Judgement will be made in court on Wednesday, provided Durai turns up.

More than 10 members of the public had gathered in the courtroom to hear the much anticipated judgement. - CNA/yy

not Guilty

;)

From a long list of charges to one charge of $20k corruption. TT seems to have the right lawyers to fight the case. Bravo! The art of seeing without seeing.

Looks like he planted alot of weblock in many things he did. So, the case is not so straight forward as it may appear before the public. I feel the most stressed individual will be the judge. A hair pulling session indeed from whatever's left on the sides of his head.

gee, i hope it is not like those movies where durai hires men to fight hidden from public, having gunshootings in dark places, fighting for their rights against secret armies from evil leaders.

haha, something like that, but it's a mind game. I met TT thru a private lunch meeting many years back; he is not ordinary like a regular joe down the road. He worked hard to reach the peak with almost nothing, but he worked smart as well. Thats all i can say here.

THe longer the case drag on, the less attention it gets... after some time, ppl will be

asking "Who is TT Durai har ? Bollywood actor ? Handsome or not ? "

Power corrupts, greed knows no bounds.

No human being would ever find money's too much. That's all I can say also.... before moderators come in here with a big lock asking for the understanding of everyone. ;p

Former NKF chief Durai chooses to remain silent in trial

Former NKF chief T T Durai has chosen to remain silent in his criminal trial.

The judge had called him to take the stand on Wednesday to give his defence.

By choosing to remain silent, the judge can make negative inferences in his judgment of the case.

Durai had also asked for leave to go overseas.

The leave was granted and the bail terms remain at S$100,000.

Both the prosecution and defence will make their final submissions in court on May 28. - CNA/ch

$100 000 is small change for Thambi.

We've cases where the criminals did not return after the police allowed them to leave Singapore for some reasons.
