Need advice

Hey guys, really need some advice . my picture is not sharp and the color is soft. i have use photoshop to saturate the picture with an amount of 30. why is my picture not sharp ?
i focus in between the two eyes and recompose while half pressing the button. Am i using the wrong technique ? and is canon camera produce color which are soft ? or is it my laptop LCD **** up ? Some one please advice ! i use the tamron 17-50 to shoot this picture . :angry: :angry: :angry:

focus-recompose and picture not sharp - please read this. also, try using a smaller aperture for greater focus depth.

"soft" color - canon's default settings give you less saturated and more natural-looking colors. in most cases you would benefit from some saturation and/or curves tweaking anyway.

however, in this case your photo appears to be underexposed, giving you a duller red than you may have expected.

I tried f16 also... but also underexposed, hence I shot at f13 instead...

Roy is on the right track.

However, the lighting is so flat, even if you really push the curves, not much will happen, can happen.

You need to rearrange the lighting, to give the subject some highlights and shadow, expose correctly, and no need to come and ask for help here ...

but you wilol have to post the picture for us to enjoy

your editting made the model's complexion burnt and accentuated her dermatological defects. It looks, kinda, bad.

I think in human shots, high contrast shots works only when the skin tone has been smoothened already.

OUCH.... but the original poster only asked for help on softness and colour dullness. I wasnt aware that he wanted us to turn the photo into magazine shots. :embrass:

wow... it is amazing what photoshop can do to the images.... guess you really need the paitence to try it out.....

haha, urm, that's cuz her blusher and make up enhance the skin tone on her face. It's not possible for the same skin tone on the face and body I think, will make it seem like there's no MUA.

your "hao se yi zhu" namecard, cool man, i like the concept. hehe. oracle(somecharactersbehindhere) is the printer who did my namecard for me.

anyway back to threadstarter.

do you realise now it's really up to the user to bring the best out of his pictures. photoshop is not as simple as you imagine by just bumping up the saturation or brightness. you need to know/experiment a series of steps to get the best possible image.
