which camera should i choose?

get back a nikon if you have any lens from your old camera.
they will work (maybe some older ones, without AF)
since u've used nikon before.. do u have any lenses? if u do and u like them i'd say go with the D80.. better yet, get the D200.. great camera!
If not.. I'd say get the 30D (but that's coz i'm a canon user..haha..).. i'm not too sure about olympus so i can't say much about it.. but i'm sure u won't go wrong with the canon or nikon.. BUT the handling is very different between the 2 brands.. make sure u try them out first before deciding...

Try them out... You'll feel more comfortable with a Nikon if you've used the SLRs before.... But dun take my word for it. Try them out in the shops and you'll know what I mean.

how about you search all the gazillion threads that have discussed this. read up on reviews of all the cameras. go down to a camera shop and handle the cameras in question.

well i'm new to dslr and wouldnt want to get something wrong or bad... however thanks alot for reminding me to get what i really like
no worries. its just that this question is asked a lot here.
the thing you have to realise, is that in terms of picture quality - whether its a sony, pentax, nikon, canon or olympus, theres no such thing as a bad DSLR. all of them are capable of taking excellent quality pictures, although there will be some minor variances across the makes and some have strengths and weaknesses in different places.
the big difference comes in terms of handling and functionality. and that is a very personal thing. another issue is choice of lenses and other accessories.

HANDLING is the most impt factor to look out for IMO.. Many people choose nikon or canon because of this.. personally i prefer canon's handling.. but that's just me.. many people feel at home with a nikon.. most dslrs today will produce great pics.. so quality is not as impt an issue.. the main thing is whether u're comfortable with changing settings and using the camera as a whole..
just because olympus gives 2 lenses should never be a pull factor.. it is a bonus no doubt, but if u don't like to use it, the equipment will just be lying to waste..
just to help u to decide... here's what u could look out for..
handling
functionality/features (u can read up on this before trying out the cameras.. do read up on their flash systems too.. quite impt IMO)
image quality (noise, colour reproduction, details and resolving power among other things)
wealth of supporting resources (lenses, flash etc.)
look at all these before deciding on value and budget.. every brand has options for the beginner to the pros.. remember once u choose a system it'll be really expensive to change...

thanks alot for your help... i had chosen the oly cos of its user friendliness and choice of lenses. since i'm new i'll use this first and decide which type of lens i like and what i like to choose. And after i get better i'll probably change to a better camera with an idea of what lens i wanna get. And as for the price this came in a bundle offer so i believe it wont be too expensive if i decide to change a system. Thanks alot for your advice
