any good earbud earphone to recommend?
i would recommend:
sennheiser MX500/550 for earbuds
OVC TC10/11/20, CrossRoads MylarOne, BeyerDynamic DTX50 for Canal earphones
Westone UM1/2/ES2, Shure E2C/E4C/E5C, Etymotic er4/6, superfi 3/5/10 for IEMs

the list is never ending. check out Jaben Networks or Stereo Electronics

I think budget is very important here..

If you're looking for <$100, I don't think most of the earphones which +evenstar suggested fits under that category. ;p

I bought myself the Shure E4g at the recent IT Show at Suntec for $399 and they are sssswwweeeettt.... Sure, I spent quite abit of moo-lahs on it but I think it is well worth the investment. :)

I noticed that afbug is using Shure E500PTH. That is also one hellava pair of earphones, which my brother has. I tried it several times and the sound quality never fails to amaze me. BUT it was way beyond my budget. ;p

Hey, earbud earphones referring to those canal ones? Anyway...Like what they say, the budget is important. You can choose those elementary ones for $40+ to those $500+
Anyway...One good recommendation is Creative Zen Aurvana. It's quite good and the price is mid-ranged. FYI,it's $169...Dunno about now!:D

E4 is good eh? :p But $399 is a little too much. I think u can get it for less at Stereo Elect at Causeway pt. It sells for US$180 online excluding shipping. Vpost shipping is about SGD$20. US land should be free at that price.

Yeah E500 is great but the PTH is useless. In fact, mine is still new in the box, never use before. :bsmilie:

I think u're refering to IEMs?

Westone UM1 is a very good buy. Got mine at slightly over a hundred, for the built quality, seal (even its not the original foam tips) and sound (I can hear a wall of difference between this and other earphones).

Of cos, I'm not one of those who buy and buy earphones, so I reckon this would last me a couple of years before it croaks on me and I have to spend to get another new one so getting something slightly over a hundred, last me longer than the average lifespan of earphones is pretty worth it to me. :)

So far the funniest comment I'd heard abt my earphones is, "Is that a earphone???" Happened to me day before at Taka Kino when I was making my purchase and unplugging myself frm my music.

Really? I actually like the concept of the PTH. It beats removing the ear-phones and putting them back on when you're just making small conversation e.g. making payment at counter etc. :D

I'm thinking whether I can hijack my bro's PTH to use on my E4g. ;p He doesn't use it too.

CrossRoad ?
Heard it is cheap and value of money ...
After burn-in, it sound

Try go Jaben to test.

I still perfer my headphone MS2 :p

my friends use Ultimate Ears Super Fi 5 PRO. I don't know how good this is compared to others, but he likes it!

I have both a Shure E4 and Ultimate Ears Superfi 5 Pro and I would swear by the Ultimate Ears anytime. A lot depends on the type of music you listen to. If you like those Hip Hop heavy bass music then the Superfi 5 Pro is not the type for you.
I listen to a lot of Instrumental Rock/Metal/Jazz/Blues. Anything guitar and sometimes vocal.. I'm into it. Hope that helps

i use audiotechnica ath-ck5 bought for $20 in Japan. not sure how much is it here. recently bought the panasonic RP-HJE50 for $39 at funan centre. to my ears, the ath-ck5 sounds better.

Have you tried Sony? :)

Sony sucks with poor durability. I am owning a pair of sony mdr-ex71 but the plastic joint is cracked with exposed wire. Slightly lack of bass for my liking. Thanks for the entire range of recommendations but i am looking for a pair that cost around 150 SGD.

lol ur bro is probably just like me, find it a little hassle. Yeah u should hijack his PTH but with E4's 1.5m cable, u need to manage it. E4g doesn't have the modular cable system like the E500.

When making small conversation e.g. making payment at counter, I'll pretend that I'm deaf and dumb! :p
