i like them raw.

The maximum that your camera can give you... few years back when I was using prosumer (FZ20), I alway saved at 1800X2048 cos' I feel that I won't have a monitor to view beyond that... moreover my SD card is only 512MB :bsmilie: but after switching to DSLR, viewing the actual picture confirms its sharpness... and there is no problem with today huge size and cheap CF card 1-2GB or more

With prices of media cards so dirt cheap, why would u want to choose anything lower than maximum possible. If you camera allows for raw, then use it.

on hard drives, if i shot in RAW, i will adjust n convert to highest possible res, then save them as jpg.. the RAWs i will keep on dvd mostly...BUT with a new firewire hard drive rack coming soon i hope, that should change

Max res too...haven't tried raw before...too lazy to convert...

raw + 8MP. In case I do not have the time to experiment with the raws... haha... I think the raws are kinda good for beginners like me to experiment with the effects of white balancing, assuming that the white balance control on the program is the same algorithm as the one built in camera.
