How heavy are your tripods when you will take it over to oversea for travel or backpacking?

Anyone experience with a 2.3kg eg. 550pro, 550CL, tripod to roam around with? Care to share some thoughts.

its depend on your phycial strength already...

If you are worried about weight - use a monopod instead.
Manfrotto even has one which is self-standing for those times when you want a pic of yourself.

You mean the universal folding base?

A medium built person, so probably dont have so much strength to carry 5 -8 KG for long hours...

The twin shoulder straps really reduce the load when travelling!
Was bought from eugenep some time back.

Or you can get the newer tripod bags, but they are single strap and slings across your body. I have tried those newer ones, and I still prefer the twin strap kind. ;p

later misunderstood this bag is carrying a sniper gun

For me, I would prefer to use a tripod strap. I do not mind people to see me carrying a tripod

i am too poor to get a light-weight tripod
so i have to get fit instead haha
but i use monopod most of the time, faster to set up and take down

Your preference. I rather the tripod not hinder my movement. ;)

Tried using a strap, but the tripod keeps on hitting against me. Painful leh.

Do take note that these leg attachments do add considerable weight to the monopod.

No they do not! unless you are a wimp.
This monopod is still a lot lighter than a tripod even light but sturdy ones.

I know because I use one.

Wimp or not, over a distance, one would feel it even it's only 300g extra. :what:

But a monopod with the leg attachments? Are you sure? I have tried the weight of it and it does feel heavier than a tripod (I estimate ~1-2Kg).
