Found this scene evokes ideas of sacredness through the arched glass works and chandelier lights, yet these are modern productions that are almost atheist.

The lights are different in nature, one artificial and the other from the outdoor sun.
No major post-processing except some burning. C&C welcomed :)

hi!

Mood-wise

I don't feel one iota of sacredness;

nor is there any hint of irony that you are suggesting.
- you might want to clarify want is meant by atheist creations. Creations made be atheists? Or creations born of science? or? An irony would perhaps be doctors who are also religious (i.e. how they reconcile their faith with medical science), etc.

Composition-wise

the picture looks like it's cut into two halves (vertically). Nothing good or bad, just a comment.

The frame is too 'clean', as in there is just one layer of visual interest, one pass of the eye and that's it.

To end with a positive, I like the colours of the window. I think more can be extracted out of it, like a close up since light is does not transmit equally through it... :D But of course it has nothing to do with the message that you're trying to bring across, so I digress...

Thanks for the honest critique. My sense of "almost atheist" is because the items (glass installation and lights) were not created as religious pieces used in a place of worship. The location is actually the Singapore Art Museum and this room was originally a school chapel.

I did think of doing a close-up of the glass installation but somehow I did not want to go into abstract stuff. It's tough to bridge the gap between feeling/seeing and conveying it in photos, I'll have to experiment more and listen to more comments :)

not nice.... window too big... chandelier too small... neither here noe there....
weak composition.... too much loose space.
