FlipIt user,

What is your flashlight setting when you take picture ?

I am using Nikon SB-800 and someone mentioned here to use TTL instead of TTL-BL when used with Flip It.

Is there a reason for using FlipIt with TTL ?

What about indoor or outdoor? Any different in the flash light settings?

I am using FlipIt with TTl-BL and not quite satisfy with the output of my pic.

Maybe you can post a photo here as well as your settings.

I'd say FlipIt is more useful for indoor use, like most omni-bounce, bouncing device, etc...

TTL-BL stands for "iTTL - Balance-Fill Flash". In this mode, exposure is determined by the camera and matched with the ambient light.

In TTL mode, exposure is detemined by the camera to sufficiently illuminate the subject that it is focused on. This however depends on your metering options too.

When you are using any diffuser with the SB-800, you should set it to iTTL as the camera will more accurately determine the amount of light needed from the flash to light up your subject. This works for both indoor and outdoor photography.
