Is it true that wherever we work in. When we've a promotion. People from other dept will congrats you but your own dept will never? Instead they give you more attitude and displace you from the rest?

i dunno .. but as far as i observe in my own working environment ... (NS) ... if u work harder than the rest and actually do your job properly, peepz in the same dept tend to despise you ... while peepz in other depts respect u ...

Doesn't happen to me... :)

In the corporate world, there're always politics.. and God Knows Why, But i do get really nasty colleague who back stab behind you and lay red carpet for his superior.

And when his own superior dosen;t support him, he bite him from behind.

Then again, these people don't last long in the company as they're isolated very fast from the rest of the colleague.

I guess your still young and have not met this kind of crazy people around.

I'm in the IT workforce for 14 years and now a manager with my own junior guys.

I always warn my staff not to play politics or else they're gonna get hell from me.

Much as i would like my own staff to be open minded, hornest and out spoken,

I do have black sheep once in a while.

Don't blame them, some of them have a tough childhood and it affect their later life
in pursuing things the wrong way.

Then again, no body is perfect!

Be happy and Always look on the bright side of life.. Cheers

simple.. thats human nature... just that some show it, while some hide it.

Sad but true. It happened to me once. Poeple in my dept act differently after my promotion. Won't even go to lunch with me. But I got more money and I don't care.

I guess that these people are not "team" people.

They have no inspirations of being part of a "team" that want's to grow.

People that want to further themselves are generally admired by like minded people,

unless they think there is brown nosing afoot.

Some people do not aspire to do more than a 9 to 5 job,

their own inadequate abilities to better themselves, creates resentment in them.

You shure can find who your friends really are :nono:

Ya...still in NS. First time really worked. Even after 1.5yrs of it, I feel that I still did a pretty bad job out of it. ~hai...

I don't know is Army dark.... or is it the whole world is this dark ?

OT: I do network and servers (I was a NSC/WSS finalist 2004), any after 6pm /wkend kind of free lance job ? NS pay is pathetic. Need to save up for my university.

Army is not a bad place, I also never appreciate my years in the army till i started working and realized the real world out there.

Its like a starter dish for you to taste before you get to taste the real thing.. so, not a bad place for learning.

Cheer up, the world more beautiful then what you imagine.

Just have to look at the birght side of lilfe.

not at my place too.. you're too sensitive?

well, my world is dark & there's no bright side whichever way i turn. :(

being sensitive 2 a certain degree is gd, in d world where ppl r so numb.

that is nuthin right or wrong , pple give more attitude and displaces you are just losers!
but if u r good enuff , they will respect you instead of doing that:)

u will get well wishes from your department lah...dont worry...
just that they are in the form of daggers.

The people in your department are probably just envious of your promotion. Everyone wants to climb the corporate ladder, no matter what it takes them. Being envious of your promotion merely reinstate their personal insecurities. I wouldn't worry too much about it, if I were you.. :)

But it's just a NSF promotion, those guys are going to get promoted like 4mths later as well.... (they enlist later than me).

I wish I can quit. argh...
