Slippery camera, buttery fingers

I'm on my second digital camera, having dropped my first camera on the road, on the dyke, and finally on the sidewalk. My new camera (Canon Powershot S50) is even smoother. I usually have the cord around my neck but was wondering if I could apply something to the camera surface to give it some grip?

i suggest he go buy some 3m texture tape, those with rubber kind, and paste over to create more texture. or those 3m mini studs,

doublesided tape better... can also keep the sensor clean cos the dust all stick to the tape... :bsmilie:

Can also try to stick on some of those self-adhesive "bumpers" onto the grip of the camera to improve grip.

I was trying to recommend using a table-tennis bat replacement rubber surfaced. More exact, the pimpled-surface. Where the entire surface is covered uniformly with tiny rubber studs. These costs cheaply for a square piece in most sports shops for less than $10(SGD). You will find the grip more than sufficient for your purpose.

Try the small pieces of anti-slip stickers that are being sold on the market for mobile phones. Those come in various sizes and clours. You might find a colour that suits your camera.

Have seen them available in the shops in Funan IT Mall (In Singapore).

i gaffered my powershot a530 grip area. not a drastic improvement but much better than having the slippery grip anyway in the first place

I just applied Hockey Stick Tape strips to my camera and it seems to work very well. It is black and not very noticeable, has a coarse cloth texture. I think it will stick well to the very shiny surface.
