Pentax O-ME53

I'm about to order a piece of this since Shirio has no idea when they will get stock of this and Cathay got none available. It's supposed to magnify your viewfinder by 1.2x (Real life tests show only 1.18x).

Be aware this product is not cheap, at bhphotovideo it's US$34.95. Count in shipping and you can expect it to be around SG$60. It's just an offer for those interested in this product but can't find it and wish to share a bit of shipping for it.

No Pentax mount.

I got mine last week. A great addon to my K10D I'd say. Very happy w/ the purchase.

i got the nikon's version. i find its only good for macro. else i shoot normally without it.

The Pentax one is different from the Nikon one. It doesn't block any view at all, not even the extrem corners of the viewfinder. It has SMC coadint as well, I don't feel and light loss at all when put it on. I won't take mine off ever :)

Cheers!

Is it easy to come out or something?
My original eyecup keeps coming out but mayb i dun really know how to put it in back properly after adjusting the diopter.

Actually it is quite tight, abit too tight to put it in (so you'd be better be careful when you push it in, just in case you'd break the rubber part). Don't think it'd come out easily.

It does extrude about 1cm out above the LCD screen, might be a problem to someone who wears glasses. But I kind like it, now I don't need to stick my nose to the LCD screen anymore

now thats good news. i'd consider selling off my nikon finder when there's stock for the pentax one.

sorry, but why would it be a problem to someone with glasses?

So I reckon no one else is interested in this? If not I go ahead and make my order.

If you wear glasses, your eyeball might be too far from the viewfinder screen, so you might have problem seeing the whole view including the info bar at the bottom. Not a problem to most, but you'll need to see and verify :)

Cheers!

The word is "Eye Relief".

I wear spectacles, so I find that eyepieces and binoculars with "long eye relief" (LER) is best for comfortable viewing. Note that it is very specific to different individuals... eye reliefs of about 18mm or more is good for me.

It does extrude abit, but not that much more than the original one. I know I won't take mine off :D

Cheers!

fengwei, is the viewfinder frame coverage reduce with this eyepiece after magnification ?
I am thinking of getting this to help with focusing the P-M lenses... straining on my eyes when manual focusing.
Will it work on my K100D ? Thanks.
