based on what i know. Hainan island is supposed to be warm all year round. Of course, for chinese who has cold winters, warm is quite subjective. However, it shd be like 25 degrees to 30 degrees if i am not wrong. All else fails, check the weather at yahoo.com or somewhere.

Can try lonelyplanet for some info as well.

The temp ard this period is usually cold. Relatives from hainan island said that the temp had drop till ard 0-10 degrees this mth. Prob will rise to abt 5 degrees in feb.

So if u wanna go, bring more sweaters/jackets.

Hainan Island is cold at this time of the year, except SanYa, which is the "Hawaii" of the East. The temperature is ard 12-22 degrees in the northern part like WenChang & QiongHai. However temperature in the South like SanYa will be around 20-28 degrees.

Btw, I will be going there during CNY too

i was just back from there...average temperature 16-25 degrees... overall trip..so-so only...4/10 kinda standard.. food isnt exactly good...i've wrote some stuff about the place...i'll try to paste the link here later P.S the scenery is fairly ok...but you could get MUCH better ones in singapore
